DESCRIPTION:Additional information. \nAn intensive program dedicated to exploring piano sonatas by Mozart\, Beethoven\, and Schubert\, the Leon Fleisher Academy is a new winter project for young pianists. \nThe aforementioned repertoire holds an essential place in the piano repertoire and it represents the cornerstone of all musicians’ growth and development. \nEach student will perform a complete sonata over two lessons with our faculty artists. Following the tradition of Arthur Schnabel and Leon Fleisher\, every lesson will be audited by all participants\, followed by a discussion after each session. \nDaily sessions with expert physical therapist Leah Fleisher are geared explicitly towards physical awareness of playing the instrument and injury prevention techniques for pianists. \n  \n\nLeon Fleisher\n“I believe that a performer’s highest goal is to discover what the music is about. You find that in the score. All the information you need is right there. The printed music is full of clues.
