PianoTexas International Academy & Festival 2026

Established in 1981, the PianoTexas International Academy & Festival in Fort Worth, TX, is recognized worldwide for its elite solo, chamber, and concerto performances. Presented by the TCU School of Music in collaboration with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the 2026 edition offers intensive training and performance opportunities for pianists of all ages. The Festival continues to be a central event for the international piano community.

Young Artists Program

Designed for gifted pianists up to age 28, the Young Artists Program provides a professional-level environment with rigorous performance expectations. Following a competitive screening process, 24 participants receive full-tuition scholarships. Thanks to the Festival’s collaboration with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, selected performers present complete concertos in public concerts. Participants also benefit from solo recitals, masterclasses, private lessons, chamber music, and Lieder studies.

Teachers Program

Since 1991, the Teachers Program has offered a structured, immersive platform for educators to refine their artistry. Activities include solo recitals, concerto performances with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, chamber collaborations, masterclasses, and individual lessons. Lecture demonstrations and the Meet the Artists series support further exploration of style, technique, and pedagogy.

Amateurs Program

Founded in 1996, the Amateurs Program welcomes dedicated non-professional pianists seeking artistic growth. Participants gain valuable performance experience through recitals, chamber music, masterclasses, and private lessons. A notable highlight is the opportunity to perform with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, fostering both artistic and personal development within a supportive community.

Juniors Program

Introduced in 2018, the Juniors Program serves younger pianists preparing for advanced training. The curriculum includes intensive coaching, exposure to distinguished artists, and high-quality performance settings—creating a foundational experience for emerging talents.

A Festival for the Entire Community

The Festival invites performers, teachers, students, and music lovers to share in world-class piano artistry. Concerts, masterclasses, and guest-artist events are open to the public, reinforcing Fort Worth’s reputation as a major cultural destination.
