Murdock International Piano Competition – Preliminary Round

In June 2026, I will adjudicate the preliminary round of the
Murdock International Piano Competition. The event takes place online from
Eugene, Oregon. It brings together young pianists from many places.
As a result, the preliminary stage offers a wide range of artistic ideas.
In addition, it gives each performer a clear chance to show musical style and technical skill.

Competition Format

The first stage happens entirely online.
For example, each competitor must follow the required repertoire list.
In addition, every pianist must meet the competition rules and send a clean video recording.
After that, the review panel selects the strongest candidates.
Therefore, the process helps create a focused and balanced finalist group.
