North York Concert Orchestra is pleased to announce its 2019 YOUTH CONCERTO COMPETITION.
The NYCO Youth Concerto Competition is an annual event held by the North York Concert Orchestra (NYCO) to support the development of young artists and to showcase budding talent by providing performance opportunities with the Orchestra. The Competition will take place on October 6, 2019 (morning and afternoon) in Toronto. The winners of the Competition will perform with the Orchestra at the Prize‐Winners’ Gala Concert on December 7, 2019. Contestants must have been born on or after July 1, 1996. All orchestral instruments (strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, keyboard and harp) are eligible. There are no residency or citizenship restrictions.
The judges are Enrico Elisi, Concert Pianist and Piano Professor at the University of Toronto, and Rafael Luz, Music Director of the North York Concert Orchestra. The closing date for applications is September 8, 2019.
